The students only have a few weeks left to submit their Young Authors stories.  This is a yearly contest where we encourage our students to become authors of their own stories.  The students should write a story and illustrate their book.   We will recognize classroom, building, and district winners.  Our classroom and building finalists will be announced at a school assembly and they will be presented with a certificate.  All Young Authors participants will receive a ribbon and pen at our assembly.

We are about to begin our second round of building benchmark assessments.  Please see the dates below for each assessment.  We use this data to adjust programming at the building level and within each classroom.

  • AIMSweb Reading (1-5)- Thursday, January 12
  • Illinois Snapshot of Early Literacy (ISEL for K)- January 9-13
  • Measures of Academic Progress (MAP for K-5)- January 9-20

Mark your calendar for the North Grove Open House –Night of Giving (Thursday, February 9).  Each classroom will have an activity including all specials.  We will have a book walk and we will once again be donating to local agencies that support our community.  This was a very successful event last year and we hope everyone can attend this year!
