Summer Reading Program
Each summer we host a summer reading program at North Grove. It is a great way to keep kids reading during the summer and allow our kindergarten students to come to the building a few times before we begin school. We will meet in the North Grove Library and the students will receive incentive prizes for their reading. The students will also be able to checkout books from the North Grove Library. Please click here for a copy of the Summer Reading Program paperwork.
- Time: 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM
- Dates: Thursday, August 1
The August Newsletter is now available! Inside you will find information about the start of the school year!
The 2019-2020 school supply list is now available. Also, remember that you can purchase a School Tool Box with all of the North Grove supplies through www.schooltoolbox.com. The school toolbox will even be delivered to your house! Please note that there was an error on the kindergarten list. If you are a kindergarten family you only need to purchase 2- 4oz containers of playdough.
New Parent Orientation – Question and Answer Night at North Grove
This is a comprehensive presentation about North Grove and the Sycamore School District. After the presentation, a full building tour will be offered along with time for questions. The goal of this evening is to make sure all parents have their questions answered before school begins. Please note that this event is designed for parents. We would recommend that younger students not attend this event.

Back to School Night – North Grove is Out of this World
Tuesday, August 13 | 4:30 to 6:15 PM
We look forward to seeing everyone at our back to school event called Return of the Hawks! At this event you can see your child’s classroom and bring in your school supplies. You can take a family photo at one of our photo booths. We will use these pictures to decorate our main bulletin board in the school. Our classroom teachers in grades 1-5 will be speaking at two different times in their classrooms. These talks will be at 4:45 and 5:30 PM and they will highlight grade level expectations and curriculum information. If you are the parent of a student in grades 1-5, please plan on attending one of these two talks in your child’s classroom. Our kindergarten families will have time to explore their classroom as the teacher talks will take place during their conferences on August 14.
At this event, we will also have food trucks available for our families. It should be a great start to the school year.
Kindergarten Transition Schedule
All incoming kindergarten students should have received their transition letter with their A/B day assignment along with their conference time for the first day of school. If you have not received this letter please contact Mr. Janisch.
Kindergarten students and their parents/guardians are asked to attend a conference at North Grove Elementary School on Wednesday, August 14. Your conference will begin at the designated time assigned in your A/B day letter. Enter through the main entrance and bring your kindergartener with you. During the conference, you will learn about important classroom details from your child’s teacher.
